Scrub Island is an island in the Caribbean and part of the British overseas territory of Anguilla . With an area of 3.48 km², the island is Anguilla's largest secondary island and is located in front of the northeastern tip of the main island. The inlet between the two islands, the Scrub Island Channel , is about 600 m wide.
The extent of Scrub Island in the southwest-northeast direction is a little more than four kilometers with a maximum width of a little over one kilometer. The island has a few sandy beaches and otherwise rocky coasts - especially the northeast tip is more rugged. There are some tiny cays immediately before Scrub Island , the largest of which is called Deadman's Cay . The slightly larger neighboring island of Little Scrub Island , on the other hand, lies to the northwest.
Scrub Iceland is gently undulating and mostly of scrub ( English scrub covered). The maximum height is 24 meters
In the northeast you can find the remains of an airstrip and a holiday resort. This facility was used as a camouflage for drug traffickers and was the scene of a raid by the American anti-drug agency DEA in 1983 . The island is now uninhabited and only populated by a few goats.
