history
- 1975: Sea Sonic is founded as a manufacturer of electronic test equipment.
- 1980: Sea Sonic enters the market for PC power supplies for the Apple II and IBM PCs.
- 1984: Corporate headquarters moves to Shih-Lin, Taipei, Taiwan .
- 1990: Second factory in Tao-Yuan (Taiwan) starts work.
- 1993: European office opened in the Netherlands.
- 1994: The Dong Guan China I factory goes into full operation.
- 1997: The Dong Guan factory is ISO 9002 certified.
- 1998: The Dong Guan II factory goes into full operation. The headquarters and the Tao Yuan factory are ISO 9001 certified.
- 1999: The company headquarters moves to its current address in Neihu, Taipei .
- 2000: Dong Guan factory receives ISO-9001 certification. The first power supplies with inexpensive active PFC are brought onto the market.
- 2002: US subsidiary in California opens. Sea Sonic Electronics Co., Ltd. is listed on the Taiwanese Gre Tai Stock Exchange (OTC Stock Exchange).
- 2003: Products are now also sold under their own brand names.
- 2005: The subsidiary in the USA is in Sea Sonic Electronics, Inc. renamed. The company is the first manufacturer to offer PC power supplies with the 80-plus certificate.
- 2006: Dong Guan factory obtained ISO 14001 certification. Start of mass production of products that are RoHS and WEEE compliant.
