The Seaward Rock ( English for seaward rock) is a small rock island in the Bay of Isles on the north coast of South Georgia , almost 60 meters north of Mollyhawk Island . It is the northernmost island and the closest to the South Atlantic from the group that gave the Bay of Isles its name.
The American ornithologist Robert Cushman Murphy mapped the rock during his journey with the brig Daisy (1912–1913). It was probably named by scientists from the British Discovery Investigations , who carried out geodetic surveys of the bay from 1929 to 1930.
