The Bay of Isles ( English for Bay of Islands ) is a bay on the north coast of South Georgia between Cape Buller in the west and Cape Wilson in the east. The sub-bays of the Bay of Isles include Rosita Harbor , Camp Bay , Sunset Fjord and Sea Leopard Fjord .
It was discovered and named in 1775 during the Second South Sea Voyage (1772–1775) of the British navigator and explorer James Cook . The numerous islands within the bay gave it its name. These islands include Albatross Island , Crescent Island , Invisible Island , Mollyhawk Island , Skua Island , Petrel Island , Prion Island , Tern Island , Dot Island and the Seaward Rock .
