The Cleveland rock is a rock off the north coast of South Georgia . It is located directly in front of Cape Buller on the west side of the entrance to the Bay of Isles .
The South Georgia Survey determined the geographic location of the rock during its 1951-1957 survey campaign. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named him in 1958 after Benjamin D. Cleveland (1844-1925), captain of the brig Daisy from New Bedford , with which the American ornithologist Robert Cushman Murphy explored South Georgia between 1912 and 1913.
