Prion Island is an island in the Bay of Isles on the north coast of South Georgia . It is located 2.5 km north-northeast of Luck Point .
The American ornithologist Robert Cushman Murphy mapped them on his trip with the brig Daisy (1912-1913). Murphy named the island after the tribe prion from the family of the petrels to the prions and the blue petrel include that nest on this island.
