Uwe Laßen

Uwe Laßen (born June 1, 1939 ) is a German former party functionary of the GDR block party NDPD . He was chairman of the Frankfurt (Oder) district board and deputy chairman of the NDPD.

Life

Laßen, son of NDPD functionary Heinz Laßen , attended elementary school and high school and graduated from high school in 1957. In the same year he became a member of the NDPD. During his military service in the National People's Army , he was a radio operator on a division headquarters. He completed a distance course in history as a graduate historian. He became an NDPD functionary in the Frankfurt (Oder) district. His first function was that of a district secretary of the party in Frankfurt (Oder). At the same time he was city councilor there.

From 1972 to 1982 he was a member of the main committee of the NDPD. In 1979 he was awarded the honorary title of Honored Activist . From 1981 he was a member of the district assembly and from July 1985 to 1989 he was chairman of the NDPD district committee in Frankfurt (Oder) (successor to Hans Möller ). From 1985 to 1990 he belonged again to the main committee of the NDPD and from May 1987 to 1990 he was a member of the executive committee of the main committee. On November 7, 1989, he was elected deputy chairman of the NDPD. After his party's election defeat on March 18, 1990, he resigned from his party positions. He was not ready to support the NDPD's entry into the “ Bund Free Democrats ”, which took place on March 28, 1990 and was approved by a party conference three days later.

Laßen then worked as an employee of the Treuhandanstalt and as head of the committee for the dissolution of the MfS in Frankfurt (Oder).
