Inner Lee Iceland (from the English loosely translated Inner Lee Island ) is a small island off the north coast of South Georgia . In the Bay of Isles it is 1.3 km north-northeast of Luck Point .
Robert Cushman Murphy mapped the island aboard the brig Daisy during his visit to South Georgia between 1912 and 1913 . Together with the island known today as Outer Lee Island , he summarized them as Lee Islands according to the prevailing wind conditions here. Scientists from the British Discovery Investigations re-surveyed between 1929 and 1930 and gave both islands individual names based on Murphy's original name.
