The Rosita Harbor is a small bay to the west of the Bay of Isles on the north coast of South Georgia . It is located 1.5 km north of Camp Bay .
The name of the bay goes back to the years between 1905 and 1912, in which it was also given the name Allardyce Harbor after the British colonial official William Allardyce (1861-1930). After a survey of the area by the South Georgia Survey from 1951 to 1952, the current name, which was already more common at the time, prevailed. The alternative name was discarded because the Allardyce Range had already been named after Allardyce . The bay is named after the whaler Rosita , who anchored here in 1905.
