Sebastián Modarelli

Sebastián Modarelli (born October 16, 1972 in Buenos Aires ) is an Argentine composer and organist.

Modarelli studied piano with Graciela Beretervide , a student of Claudio Arraus , organ with Jesús Segade and Luis Caparra , choral conducting with Antonio Russo and composition with Fernando Albinarrate , Eduardo Checchi and Virtú Maragno at the National Conservatory of Buenos Aires . For six years he worked as organist, music director and professor at the seminary of the Archdiocese of Buenos Aires. In 1998 he received second prize at the national composition competition Promociones Musicales , and in the following year first prize at the composition competition of the National Art Academy. From 2001 Modarelli studied at the Milan Conservatory, and he also attended masterclasses from Karlheinz Stockhausen , Luis de Pablo and Marco Stroppa . Since 2005 he has lived as a composer and organist at St. John the Evangelist Church in Rochester, USA.
