Sebastian Kummer (born January 20, 1963 in Unna ) is a German economist . He is the director of the Institute for Transport Management and Logistics at the Vienna University of Economics and Business .

Life

Between 1982 and 1987 Kummer studied economics , business administration and philosophy in Cologne and Tübingen . He did his doctorate at WHU under Jürgen Weber and worked there between 1987 and 1996.

From 1989 to 1993 he was the managing director of the Unna gear factory.

From 1997 he held a professorship for business administration, in particular transport management and logistics at the TU Dresden . In 2001 he was appointed to the Vienna University of Economics and Business.

He became known to the public in several countries because he was stranded in his sailing boat in the Aegean Sea due to restrictions resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic .
