Sebastian Lohse
Sebastian Lohse , artist name Robin Sohn (born March 24, 1978 in Wolgast ) is a German musician, singer and composer.
Life
Sebastian Lohse has lived in Dresden since 1982 . The singer and musician began taking flute lessons when he was 5 years old and then switched to the clarinet. After that he began to play the guitar autodidactically and later took lessons from Dresden guitarist Detlef Bunk. Lohse took piano lessons while studying musicology. At the age of 16 he gained his first experience with street music. Since then Sebastian Lohse has participated in various band projects. In 1994 he founded the band “Schweps”, two years later “Kevins Kitchen” and again two years later “Cohen live”. In between he was a singer in the Dresden music and recording studio project "PLUS" for a year. He had the greatest success as a singer, lyricist and composer with the rock band “ Last Instance ”. Between 1998 and 2003 he produced three albums with the band and toured clubs and festival stages at home and abroad. Since 1998 he has been taking singing lessons from the concert and opera singer Viktoria Promny-Göpfert. He received dramaturgical acting lessons for singers from Thea Elster .
In summer 2005 he released the album "Winterlieder", a surreal lieder cinema with philosophical and experimental texts, under his own record label with film composer Frieder Zimmermann. In 2005 he stood next to Thea Elster in her staging of the Fritz Grasshoff project "Always digging, Mr. Ogorek finds ..." on the stage.
The end of December 2007 was the premiere of his first solo song program “In Medias Res” in the Dresden Kulturpalast . Inspired by political-satirical songs of the 1920s and classic French chansons from Brel to Brassens , he developed it with the pianist Clemens Pötzsch . The conception was realized by Thea Elster. After around 40 concerts in Germany, it was released on CD. The CD was released in October 2008 by Metropol, Sikorski / Songs United.
