Sebastian Seifert (born December 12, 1978 in Ystad ) is a Swedish handball coach and a former handball player . His body length is 1.90 m.

Athletic career

Seifert, who played for the Swedish club Ystads IF HF and ran for the Swedish national team, was mostly used in the center of the back .

Sebastian Seifert started playing handball at IFK Ystad , for whom his father Roy also played. He also made his debut for Ystad in the Swedish first division. In 2000 he moved to the Danish top club KIF Kolding , where he won the Danish championship in 2001 and 2002 and the Danish Cup in 2002. In the 2002/2003 season he played for TuS Nettelstedt-Lübbecke , but returned to Kolding after only one season. There he won three more championships in 2005, 2006 and 2009 and two more trophies in 2005 and 2007. In summer 2009 he moved to Ystad IF. In March 2013 he had to end his career due to an injury. In summer 2013 he took over the position of assistant coach at Ystad IF. From April 2014 until the end of the 2016/17 season, Seifert worked as a coach at Ystad IF. In January 2018 Seifert took over the coaching position from HIF Karlskrona , whom he coached until the end of the 2017/18 season. In 2019 he became the trainer of IFK Ystad HK.

Sebastian Seifert has played 103 international matches for the Swedish national team . For the 2007 men's handball world championship in Germany, however, he could not qualify with Sweden.

Seifert has German ancestors. His grandparents come from Berlin and emigrated to Sweden in 1950.
