Sebastian Chapel in Buchen

The Sebastian Chapel is a small chapel in the Buchen district of the Bregenzerwald community of Andelsbuch in the Bregenz district of Vorarlberg . The chapel, built in 1638, is a listed building .

The chapel is a simple rectangular building with a gable roof, which is covered with eternit . Above it is a bell tower. To the side of the rectangular portal are two windows. In the gable is a crucifix from the 18th century. The facade was renewed in 1980. Inside there is a small baroque altar: the altarpiece shows the "Immaculate Conception" with Saints Sebastian , Martin on the left, and Saint Wendelin and Saint Roch on the right. The picture was painted by Leonhard Werder in 1638 . Above is a depiction of the Sacred Heart from the 19th century. In the chapel there is also a prayer bench with tracery from the mid-19th century, an "Immaculata" picture with a curved frame from 1770, which originally hung in the parish church of Andelsbuch ; a picture of St. Anthony from the 18th century, a "Veronica scarf" from the 18th century and reverse glass pictures from the 19th century.
