Secernosaurus is the only hadrosaur foundin South America . The only species is Secernosaurus koerneri . The fossil consists of a fragmentarily preserved, unrelated, but together found skeleton and the brain skull. The assignment to the hadrosaurs was made because of the horizontal acromion (part of the shoulder blade ) and features of the ilium (illium). Since further features, especially the complete skull, are unknown, Secernosaurus cannot be classified in a sub-taxon within the hadrosaurs.
