The Secreteriado Técnico de Administração Eleitoral STAE ( Technical Secretariat of the Election Administration ) is a government agency in East Timor that conducts elections in the country. It reports to the Ministry of State Administration and is responsible for drawing up election regulations and guidelines for candidates, organizing voter registration and the administrative side of elections. The specifications drawn up by the STAE are checked by the Comissão Nacional de Eleições . Law 2/2003 of July 23rd forms the basis for the STAE.

The long-standing director general of the STAE was Tomás Cabral , who moved to the East Timorese government in 2012 . The current general manager is Acilino Manuel Branco (as of 2014/2018).
