Tomás do Rosário Cabral is an East Timorese official and politician. He is a member of the Congresso Nacional da Reconstrução Timorense (CNRT) party. From 2015 to 2017, Cabral was Vice Minister for State Administration.

Career

Cabral was General Director of the Secreteriado Técnico de Administração Eleitoral (STAE) for several years before he was sworn in as State Secretary for the decentralization of administration on August 8, 2012. During the government reshuffle in 2015, the previous Minister of State Administration Jorge da Conceição Teme turned down the offer to continue his office as Vice Minister. So Cabral received the post on February 16.

In 2017, Cabral was elected one of the deputy chairpersons of the CNRT at the party congress. When the VII government took office on September 15, 2017, Cabral's term in the cabinet ended. The CNRT went into opposition after heavy losses in the parliamentary elections .

As of August 21, 2018, Cabral was East Timor's Special Envoy to Guinea-Bissau . In June 2019 he was chief advisor in the Ministry of State Administration.

Honors

On May 19, 2012, Cabral was awarded the Insígnia des Ordem de Timor-Leste .
