Seduction Cinema is an American film production company and a label of the company "ei Independent Cinema". Seduction Cinema's business model is to produce parodies of current cinema blockbusters cheaply, whereby the results can be attributed to the sexploitation genre through generously interspersed soft sex scenes .

history

The New Jersey- based, original Seduction Cinema parent company "ei Independent Cinema" was active in the production and distribution of low-quality horror films. In 1996 the company produced the horror film Caress of the Vampire , which was supplemented on a trial basis with lesbian soft sex scenes. The film was a great success for ei, and it was decided to set up a label for similar productions because the company name "ei" was seen as a sales barrier for larger productions. The first film produced by Seduction Cinema was The Vampire's Seduction in 1998 , the main female role of which was occupied by the later "B-Movie Queen" Tina Krause . A significant financial success in 1999 was the Blair Witch Project parody Erotic Witch Project . The newly founded label quickly developed into the parent company's main sales driver. The main competitor in the soft sex film parody market was Surrender Cinema, a label of Full Moon Features . In 2000, Seduction Cinema established itself as the leading brand in the segment with the release of Erotic Witch Project , and Surrender Cinema ceased operations a few films later. In the mid-2000s, the parent company was renamed POP Cinema and relocated its headquarters from New Jersey to Maryland , but the Seduction Cinema label remained. No films have been released since the 2011 production, Lustful Illusions , but the label has never been dissolved.

The label's productions are characterized by a sense of humor in the films, which the director Justin Wingenfeld, who works for POP Cinema, describes as "silly and student". Soft sex films from the 1960s and 1970s are distributed via the Retro Seduction Cinema sub-label, some of which are remakes. The sub-label After Hours Cinema operates the same business principle , but with old and newly made hardcore films. Seduction Cinema had some of its own productions reworked into comics that the company also sells, such as Playmate of the Apes and SpiderBabe .

Seduction Cinema regularly casts female lead roles with the same actresses in order to exploit the recognition effect. These lead actresses include Erin Brown (as Misty Mundae), Darian Caine, Anoushka Garin, and Anju Jena McIntyre (as AJ Khan).
