The submarine cable between the Isle of Man and England ( "Isle of Man to England Interconnector") with a length of 105 km the longest laid in the sea phase cables Earth. It was laid between Blackpool and Douglas on the Isle of Man in 1999 and has a maximum transmission capacity of 65  megawatts . The operating voltage of the submarine cable between the Isle of Man and England is 132  kV .

Near and parallel to the power cable, which also contains telecommunication lines, is a fiber optic data cable, also owned and operated by the Manx Electricity Authority .
