The Schleswig-Holstein Sailing Association e. V. ( SVSH ) is the association of around 220 sailing clubs in Schleswig-Holstein. The SVSH is the state professional association for sailing of the state sports association Schleswig-Holstein and an extraordinary member of the German Sailing Association .
Organization and activity
The SVSH is a registered association based in Kiel. There are currently around 30,000 members organized in the member associations of the SVSH. 3,000 of them are young people. According to the statutes, the association day (general assembly), the board of directors, the advisory board and the honorary council are organs of the SVSH. The Association Day is held once a year in Schleswig-Holstein. The member associations have voting rights on this relative to their number of members.
The association was founded in 1947 with the aim of promoting sailing in Schleswig-Holstein in general and supporting the youth work of its clubs in particular. It is the mouthpiece for the common interests of its members towards authorities and associations. It is exclusively and directly oriented towards the common good, it is run on a voluntary basis and is selflessly active. In its interests, the SVSH extends to competitive and popular sports as well as cruising and regatta sailors as well as windsurfers and kite surfers.
Youth work
The youth work in the sailing association Schleswig-Holstein is led by the state youth chairman, who is a member of the board of the association. It is supported by the State Youth Sailing Committee, which consists of up to seven people elected at the State Youth Sailing Meeting.
The Schleswig-Holstein Sailing Youth in the Schleswig-Holstein Sailing Association promotes youth sailing in its member clubs and also organizes its own training measures. The annual state youth championship has been advertised centrally for ten boat classes for several years. This has been taking place in Lübeck-Travemünde since 2016.

Dinghy sailing , catamaran sailing , sea and deep sea sailing, sail surfing , ice sailing , beach sailing , model sailing and kite surfing .
