Joachim Gauger notes on laut.de that the album is “singer / songwriter pop with Balkan beats and fun role-playing”. The spectrum would range from “chansons to Balkan disco with thunderous brass sections”, but its own handwriting is difficult to recognize. The Germany radio says that the album was "above average mature album in your own song-poetry revels." The Hannoversche Allgemeine Zeitung feels reminded of the young Jim Morrison by the songs and sums up the album with “German pop times wild and rough”. Linus Volkmann says in the Musikexpress that the recording is “an incredibly mature album that indulges in its own song lyrics and doesn't stumble awkwardly in it”.

Chart placement

Be a Faber in the Wind entered the German album charts on July 14, 2017 at number 17 , which is also the best position in these charts. The album stayed in these charts for three weeks for the time being, it was re-entered on August 11, 2017, and the album was able to place itself in the album charts for another three weeks. In the Ö3 Austria Top 40 , Sei ein Faber im Wind was placed 59th for a week. The album was also commercially successful in the Swiss charts . There Sei ein Faber im Wind entered third place on July 16, 2017 and was able to stay in the album charts for a total of 19 weeks.
