Seichō-no-Ie ( Japanese 生長 の 家 , "house of growth") is a new religious movement founded by Taniguchi Masaharu , which represents a current within the so-called new spirit movement .

Emergence

Seichō-no-Ie was officially founded by Taniguchi with the publication of the magazine of the same name in 1930 . Actually, the movement develops from the subscribers to this magazine.

Teaching and practice

The Seichō-no-Ie movement describes the main teachings:

  1. The word is the creator of everything that is, because what you think or say has a “need to realize”.
  2. There is an inner unity between all religions because they are based on the one God of the universe.
  3. The purpose of earthly existence is soul development in the "school of life".
  4. Man is a child of God, a perfectly divine being.
  5. There is no sin, only feelings of guilt from which a person must free himself.
  6. The physical world reflects the inner world of man.
  7. Man must be reconciled with everything in the universe and achieve inner harmony.
  8. Only the one God and his kingdom are real.
  9. Man has to strive to search for truth, because truth is nothing purely intellectual.

Seichō-no-Ie is a syncretistic religion that contains elements of Christianity , especially Christian Science , Buddhism , Shintoism and the doctrine of the New Spirit, here specifically the approach of Ernest Holmes .

Shinsokan meditation is part of the practice of Seichō-no-Ie .
