The silk house Weichmann is a 1921/1922 building in Gliwice (Gleiwitz) by the German architect Erich Mendelsohn (1887-1953). The former department store is located at ul. Zwycięstwa 37 (the former Wilhelmstraße) on the corner of Promenadenweg.

The building has two upper floors and a small tower on the third floor. The building was designed in the style of classical modernism and built using reinforced concrete .

history

The building was designed by Berlin architect Erich Mendelsohn and built between 1921 and 1922. The owner of the building was the textile merchant Erwin Weichmann in the 1930s.

In 2002 the building was renovated. Today there is a branch of the PKO-BP -Bank in the building .
