The Self-Transcendence 6-Hour Run Nuremberg is a long-distance run on the Wöhrder Wiese in Nuremberg , on a circuit of 1.5 kilometers in length. The organizer is the Sri Chinmoy marathon team. The run usually takes place on the second or third weekend in March each year. Apparently it is the first 6-hour run in the German-speaking area or the first that is included in the DUV statistics.

history

In the 1990s, members of the Sri Chinmoy group were looking for a suitable run for Nuremberg. This is how Roland Blumensaat suggested organizing a 6-hour run. Blumensaat knew the group from the already existing Peace Mile runs on the Wöhrder meadow. The running event was organized for the first time in 1996. In 2016 the German championship in the 6-hour race was held in Nuremberg.

There are seven current (as of Apr. 2016) German records in 6-hour running that were set in Nuremberg. Best performance of all age groups highlighted in color.
