Semni Karusou

Semni Karusu (Papaspyridi-Karusu) ( Greek Σέμνη Καρούζου ; * 1898 in Tripoli ; † December 8, 1994 ) was a Greek classical archaeologist . In 1922 she came to the National Archaeological Museum in Athens as curator . She briefly managed the branches in Volos and Nafplio , and in 1934 she became a curator at the National Museum. In 1930 she married Christos Karusos . Together with him she hid the treasures of the National Museum at the beginning of the Second World War and took care of the reorganization. In 1961 she became a corresponding member of GöttingenAcademy of Sciences elected.

She wrote numerous articles, especially on sculptures and vases.
