Sencha mac Ailella
Sencha mac Ailella [ 'ʃenxa mak' alʼeLa ] is the name of a legendary figure from the Ulster cycle of Celtic mythology in Ireland .
Sencha mac Ailella is a poet ( fili ) and judge at the court of King Conchobar mac Nessa . In contrast to Bricriu Nemthenga and Dubthach Dael Ulad , he always tries to settle and peace-building in disputes. As a mediator in disputes among the parents , he is always successful because of his justice, because he is subject to the geis (taboo, requirement) that if a wrong judgment were made his face would be disfigured by stains. He is also mentioned as a tutor of Cú Chulainn .
With this geis he can be compared with the judge Morann , whose collar contracted in the event of an unjust judgment.
