The Elmshorn radio station (also known as "Siberia radio station") was a transmission system for the Deutsche Reichspost , later the Deutsche Bundespost , which went into operation in 1942 and operated in the shortwave frequency range . Until the German surrender in May 1945, it served as a broadcasting station in the broadcast service and in the post-war period as a coastal radio station in the mobile marine service .

In the years from around 1980 the division of the individual components of the system was as follows:

  • House 1 - 18 Telefunken transmitters, each with 20 kW transmission power
  • House 2 - measuring station, the preliminary stages and the remote control system (for remote control of some transmitters by Norddeich radio )
  • House 3 and 4 - storage room
  • Building 5, administration, canteen and broadcasting room for the transmitters 620 kW and 4,100 kW transmission power
  • Diesel house - power supply with the diesel emergency generator

In 1996 broadcasting was stopped and the antenna systems were dismantled. The site was acquired by an investor in 2012.
