The Senepol beef is a Caribbean breed of cattle from the Lesser Antilles island of Saint Croix , which is part of the American Virgin Islands .

In the early 20th century, Henry C. Nelthropp crossed Red Poll cattle and N'Dama cattle imported from Senegal .

The Senepol breed combines the advantages of the N'Dama (heat tolerance, insect resistance) with those of the Red Polls (extreme good-naturedness, good meat and high milk production).
