Airman First Class is a rank ( OR-4 ) of the US Air Force .

In the US Air Force, the Senior Airman ( SrA ) is the highest rank of the team, above Airman First Class and directly below Staff Sergeant . An Airman First Class is promoted to Senior Airman after 36 months at the earliest.

The qualification is acquired in a six-week course. This includes appropriate technical skills as well as leadership development to monitor soldiers of lower rank.
