The former scythe forge under the lime tree , also called Oberhaindl, is a listed ensemble of industrial culture in Micheldorf in Upper Austria in the Kirchdorf an der Krems district . The scythe factory was built in 1581 and shut down in 1886.

location

The Oberhaindl is located in Hinterburg in the cadastral community of Mittermicheldorf. As the only one of the Micheldorfer forges, it was not driven by the Krems itself, but by a tributary, the Hinterburgerbach.

The smithy was subject to the service of the Spital am Pyhrn .

Haindl Chapel

The free-standing house chapel was built in 1820 by the trades Franz and Josefa Moser in a swamp meadow as an emergency work by the forge. Curved gable with sundial, high-quality classicist wrought iron grille and an altar of the same type. The lattice bears the sign “Zwei Mondschein” and the initials “FMJM”.
