The Serbian Crown Jewels were the insignia of the Kingdom of Serbia .

history

The Serbian crown jewels consisted of crown jewels in the Middle Ages of the ruling royal house of the Nemanjids (1167 to 1371 the Serbian ruling dynasty). With the conquest of Serbia by the Ottomans ( Battle of the Mariza in 1371 and the Battle of the Blackbird Field in 1389), the Serbian monarchy of the Middle Ages ended under the attacks of the Ottomans. Only after the defeat of the Ottomans in modern times did the Serbian monarchy of the House of Karađorđević , which ruled in Serbia from 1804 to 1813, from 1842 to 1858 and from 1903 to 1945 in Yugoslavia , come into being. This royal house had new crown jewels made.
