Serdar Yağlı (born January 1, 1978 in Kırıkkale ) is a former Turkish boxer .

Career

Serdar Yağlı won a bronze medal in bantamweight at the European Junior Championships in Hungary in 1995 . In 1996 he was eliminated from the European Championships in Denmark only in the quarter-finals against the British David Burke. He was also used in the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta , where he was defeated in the first fight just 8: 9 against Josian Lebon from Mauritius .

In 1997 he won the gold medal in featherweight at the Mediterranean Games in Italy when he prevailed in the final against Noureddine Medjehoud . He finished the 1997 World Championships in Hungary in the preliminary round. At the 1999 World Championships in the United States , he reached the quarter-finals, where he was eliminated 7: 8 against the eventual Russian vice world champion Alexei Stepanow.
