Serge Poirier (born November 13, 1932 in Morlaix ) is a former French football player .

Career

The 169 centimeter tall defender Poirier was from 1951 on in the second division squad of the west French club SCO Angers . He made his professional debut during the 1951/52 season, but was only considered sporadically in the following years. From 1954 he ran for several seasons exclusively for the second team in an amateur league.

For the 1959/60 season he made the jump back into the club's first selection, which has now been promoted to the top division. From then on he was regularly called up, although he did not get a permanent place, and found himself with the team in the middle of the table. In 1961, at the age of 28, after 22 first division games and six second division appearances, each without scoring, he ended his professional career, which he had completed entirely in the Angers jersey. He then went to the amateur club Club Athlétique Evronnais , where he worked as a coach from 1961 to 1962.
