Sergei Panteleimonowitsch Babinow ( Russian Сергей Пантелеймонович Бабинов ; born November 7, 1955 in Chelyabinsk , Russian SFSR ) is a former Soviet - Russian ice hockey player .
Career
During his career, the defender played for HK Traktor Chelyabinsk , HK CSKA Moscow and Krylja Sowetow Moscow . In total, he scored 29 goals in 452 games in the Wysschaya League . He was appointed to the Soviet national ice hockey team at an early age . On November 13, 1975 he was in a game against Czechoslovakia for the first time for the Sbornaja on the ice. His international career was crowned with a gold medal at the 1976 Winter Olympics . For the national team, he scored 18 goals in 162 international matches. At the ice hockey world championships he was world champion four times with his team (1979, 1981, 1982 and 1983). In 1979 he was inducted into the " Russian Hockey Hall of Fame ". On January 29, 1984, he played his last international match.
