Sergio Merolle

Sergio Merolle (* 1926 in Rome ) is an Italian film producer .

Life

From 1953 Merolle dedicated himself to film production; until 1979 he worked as a production manager for around 20 films and as an executive producer for almost ten more at the beginning of his career. In 1968, he sat down once to the director's chair, at the peak of when he spaghetti westerns -Welle with Quanto costa morire made its contribution. More important were his contributions to Luchino Visconti's Vaghe stelle dell'orsa and Gillo Pontecorvo's La battaglia di Algeri .
