Sergio Moldavsky

Sergio Moldavsky (* 1955 in Buenos Aires ) is an Argentine classical guitarist .

Moldavsky had guitar lessons from Alfredo Vicente Gascón . He then studied at the Conservatorio Provincial "Juan José Castro" in La Lucila with Graciela Martínez Zárate until 1982 and completed his training with María Isabel Siewers . He has taught guitar at several provincial conservatories in Argentina, at the Municipal Conservatory "Manuel de Falla" and the Municipal Music School "Juan Pedro Esnaola" in Buenos Aires.

Moldavsky received second prizes at the Promociones Musicales de la Argentina (1980) and the Concurso Abel Carlevaro of the city of Buenos Aires (1987), and first prize at the Concurso María Luisa Anido (1988) organized by the Círculo Guitarrístico Argentino . In 1993 he took part in a concert in honor of the guitarist María Luisa Anido . In the same year he also appeared at the 19th International Guitar Festival in Stockholm. With Victor Villadangos he played a CD in 1998 with works by the Argentine composer Jorge Gómez Crespo , including the first complete recording of his series Argentina . In 2000 a CD was released with works by 19th century composers, some of which were Moldavsky's own transcriptions.

Another CD was created in collaboration with guitarist Eduardo Fernández , and in 2002 Moldavsky released a recording of Abel Fleury's complete works . In the same year he played the world premiere of Carlos Carmonas Yupanquiana for guitar and orchestra at a concert on the 10th anniversary of Atahualpa Yupanqui's death . On the double CD Cantabile en cuerdas he played guitar works by Enrique Cipolla and with the singer Rosana Risé the first recording of Jonathan Kulp 's children's songs based on texts by Federico García Lorca .
