Sergio Alejandro Santana Piedra (born August 10, 1979 in Río Grande, Zacatecas ) is a Mexican football player who is mainly used in the attack line.
biography
Santana Piedra started his professional career at CF Pachuca , for which he was under contract for almost six years (early 2000 to December 2005). He made his first division debut on May 7, 2000 for Pachuca in a home game against Deportivo Toluca , which his team lost 4-2. He played a total of 180 games for Pachuca, scoring 44 goals. Thus he is the most successful Mexican striker of CF Pachuca since the existence of the Primera División, because in this respect he was only surpassed by the Argentine Gabriel Caballero .
Before the start of the Clausura 2006 he was committed by Chivas Guadalajara to strengthen Adolfo Bautista in the attack line. After all, the two players had already won the Apertura 2003 together with Pachuca. It actually worked out, as Guadalajara won the Apertura 2006 the following year.
