Serif PhotoPlus is an image editing program from the British company Serif . Since Serif focuses on its Affinity products Affinity Designer , Affinity Photo and Affinity Publisher , development was discontinued.

The program can be used to make numerous changes to images. PhotoPlus offers numerous graphic filters and effects as well as tool functions for this. Also batch processing is possible. The software offers the option of image management . The program can also be used to paint and create slide shows.

With PhotoPlus, common formats such as JPEG and TIFF can be processed as well as raw data from most camera models or in the digital negative (DNG) format . Other supported formats are "Paint Shop Pro" format PSP and the Adobe format PSD .

The program can process a file without losing the initial state if the image is only manipulated via setting layers. Any change with such a level can be undone. If you have changed an image solely through setting levels, then the original file remains unchanged and without loss of quality. Even if the editing of a layer is temporarily finished and a new layer has been added, most of the changes on other layers can still be changed with PhotoPlus.

The X7 and X8 versions are almost the only 64-bit image processing programs that can import images from scanners with a 32-bit TWAIN driver. Due to the different code base and the complexity of the programming, this feature was not continued in the successor program Affinity Photo.
