Photoshop Document ( .psd , PSD) is one of Adobe Photoshop's proprietary file formats . Other important file formats are PSB (Photoshop Big) for large files and also PDF (Mac) or PDP (Windows), which are mainly used for exchanging information with InDesign .

All image data used are stored loss-free with PSD and PSB, as well as information about the various levels, smart objects , channels and vectors and settings of the project. The files are correspondingly large compared to other formats.
