GraphicConverter (initially graphics converter ) is a conversion and image processing program and image browser for pixel graphic data ( raster graphics ) under Mac OS by Thorsten Lemke. It converts - also in batch processing - between hundreds of graphic formats . A comparable program was created for Windows with IrfanView , but it is more geared towards viewing images.

Thorsten Lemke developed the software in 1992, originally for System 7 , in order to be able to continue to use existing graphic files on his old Atari system. As the Internet grew, he handled more and more requests to implement more graphics conversions. The software is now available in many languages, including German, English, French, Danish, Swedish, Italian, Spanish, Russian, Czech, Chinese and Japanese. The program supports AppleScript .

Version 9 or higher of the software requires at least Mac OS X Lion ; For older computer systems, also for Power Macs and even up to the "classic" Mac OS , older program versions are officially available.

In version 10 was u. a. Face recognition, import of BigTIFF and export of Animated PNG added.

The software was supplied by Apple with the then current Power Mac G5 as an OEM version.
