In 2014, the vector-based graphics and drawing program Affinity Designer and then Affinity Photo were developed for Apple's computer product line , and versions for Windows were added in 2016. In 2017 an Affinity Photo app was released for the iPad Pro , iPad Air 2 and iPad (early 2017) versions .

Apple named Affinity Photo App of the Year in 2015 and 2017. This was followed in 2016 by the Best Imaging Software award from the Technical Image Press Association .

The Photoshop format ( PSD ) as well as common standard formats such as PNG , TIFF , JPG , GIF , SVG , EPS, EXR, HDRI and PDF can be opened, edited and saved. RGB , CMYK , and Lab color spaces are supported, in 16-bit and 32-bit channels. Layers, layer groups, adjustment layers, filter layers and masks are supported indefinitely.
