Serra de São Mamede near Castelo de Vide

The Serra de São Mamede is a Portuguese low mountain range It is located in the northeastern Alentejo in the Portalegre district on the border with Spain . The up to 1025 m high mountains are mostly covered with forest. The 31,750 hectare Parque Natural da Serra de São Mamede was created to protect the rich flora and fauna .
