The Portalegre District ( Distrito de Portalegre ) is a district of Portugal , which is composed for the most part of the traditional province of Alto Alentejo and some districts of the Ribatejo . The Portalegre district borders the Castelo Branco district in the north, Spain in the east, the Évora district in the south and the Santarém district in the west. Area: 6065 km².
