The District of Setúbal ( Distrito de Setúbal ) is a district in Portugal that emerged from the traditional provinces of Estremadura and Baixo Alentejo . It is bordered by the district of Lisbon and the district of Santarém in the north, the district of Évora in the east, the district of Beja in the south and east and the Atlantic Ocean in the west . Area: 5064 km². 788,459 inhabitants (2001). The capital of the district is Setúbal . License plate for trailers: SE .
