The 22.6 km long Serra del Cadí mountain range is part of the Pre-Pyrenees and is located in northern Catalonia , Spain . The massif, aligned in an east-west axis, lies in the area of the comarcas Alt Urgell , Cerdanya and Berguedà . It borders the Pyrenees in the north, the Riu de Lavansa and its tributaries in the south, the Monsec de Tost mountain range in the west and the Comabona mountain in the east .

Along with the Serra de Moixeró , the Massive Tosa d'Alp, Puigllançada and Pedraforca forms Serra del Cadí Natural Park, Parque Natural del Cadi-Moixeró .
geology
The limestone mountains were formed in the Tertiary . The ridge of the Serra del Cadí runs at an altitude of 2,500 - 2,600 m, the northern slope is steeply sloping over a height of more than 500 m while the southern slope has an even gradient.

The highest peaks are Cap de la Fesa (2,391 m), Pic del Cabirol (2,457 m), Coll de la Canal Baridana (2,501 m), Coll de Llitze (2,506 m), Torreta de Cadí (2,562 m), Puig de la Canal del Cristall (2,563 m), Puig del Quer (2,568 m), Salt del Sastre (2,591 m), Pic de Costa Cabirolera (2,604 m), Pujolar de Roca Grossa (2,613 m) and the highest point, the Vulturó (2,648 m) m).
