Service prototyping

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The service prototyping can be classified in the service design process. It enables the idea to be visualized. Prototypes already have the essential properties of the final service. This gives users the opportunity to “experience” the service for the first time and the concept can be checked. In this way, it is possible to test at an early stage whether the service is understood, whether it is needed and where any weaknesses are, without having already completed the service. Frequently used methods of prototyping are mockups , storyboards , scenario analyzes and Wizard-of-Oz applications. However, Blomkvist and Holmlid (2010) suggest that a prototype can be almost anything as long as a useful property of the service idea is represented.
