Sex Crimes and the Vatican is a 2006 television documentary directed by Colm O'Gorman . It wasairedby the BBC on October 6, 2006 as part of a series on the Vatican's responsibility for sexual abuse in the Roman Catholic Church . O'Gorman was himself a victim of sexual violence by a Catholic priest in Irelandat the age of 14.

Colm O'Gorman refers to the church regulation Crimen sollicitationis , which is said to have been tightened again under Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger in his time before he himself became Pope. The Vatican did not respond to Colm O'Gorman. The cases of Priest Oliver O'Grady in California and Priest Tarcisio Tadeu Spricigo in São Paulo , Brazil, were discussed .

The narrator in the film is Paul Kenyon. The O'Grady case was also featured in the 2006 documentary Deliver Us from Evil .
