Sextus Erucius Clarus
Sextus Erucius Clarus († late February or early March 146) was a Roman politician and senator in the times of Hadrian and Antoninus Pius .
Clarus was nephew of Gaius Septicius Clarus , Praetorian prefect 117/119. He was the younger Pliny promoted and received on his intercession by 99 the Bursary , later tribune and praetor . He took part in Trajan's Parthian War as a praetoric legate and captured Seleukia-Ctesiphon in 116 .
Clarus was consul twice ; His first consulate cannot be precisely dated, probably after the Parthian War in 117. He died during his second consulate, which he received as city prefect , in late February or early March 146. His son was probably Gaius Erucius Clarus , consul in 170.
