Gaius Erucius Clarus
Gaius Erucius Clarus was a Roman senator and consul of the 2nd century AD.
Erucius became full consul with Marcus Gavius Cornelius Cethegus in 170 . Probably immediately after his consulate, perhaps from 171 to 174, he was governor ( legatus Augusti pro praetore) of Syria Palestine .
Erucius was probably a son of Sextus Erucius Clarus , consul in 146. He was married to Pompeia Triaria, daughter of Aulus Junius Rufinus , consul in 153. His son was Gaius Iulius Erucius Clarus Vibianus , who became consul in 193.

Remarks
- ↑ CIL 11,619 .
- ↑ A possible second son could be Pomponius Eruccius Triarius , CIL 03, 00175 . There is also the possibility that he is identical to Gaius Iulius Erucius Clarus Vibianus .
