Dumeni Columberg (born October 7, 1941 in Ilanz , resident in Disentis / Mustér ) is a Swiss politician ( CVP ). He began his professional career as an editor of the Romansh newspaper Gasetta Romontscha (1969 to 1972). The economic consultant (Dr. oec. HSG) was married to Ida Nay (* 1945 - † 2014), "l'Ida dalla televisiun", and has a son (Gion Andrea). He lives in Disentis / Mustér.

From the municipality to the region to the canton

Columberg was from 1969 to 1971 as a council and from 1971 to to 1987 mayor operates. It was the time of the great tourist boom. Columberg was a co-founder of Pro Surselva (1966) and the Surselva community association and was a member of the board (Vice President) from 1967 to 1995, most recently as its president. From 1972 to 1994 Columberg presided over the Surselva regional hospital and was responsible for the new hospital building. From 1971 to 1983 he was a member of the Grand Council of the Canton of Graubünden . After the avalanche in April 1975, the Graubünden government commissioned Columberg to relocate the villages of Acla to Fuorns Medel (Lucmagn) and Caprau to Carcarola (Disentis).

From the National Council to the Council of Europe

On November 26, 1979 Columberg was elected to the National Council, where he was a member of numerous preliminary advisory commissions (regional policy and energy), such as the NEAT Commission, the Commission for Transport and Telecommunications, and the Foreign Policy Commission. From 1989 he was the representative of the municipality of Sedrun ( Tujetsch ) for the NEAT negotiations and for the Porta Alpina .

From 1989 to 1999 Columberg was a member of the Swiss delegation to the Council of Europe and was responsible for the admission of Bulgaria, Albania, Moldova and Armenia to the Council of Europe. He also mediated language problems in Belgium.

Columberg was co-founder and vice-president of the Association for the Protection of Mountain Areas (1980), which later merged with the Swiss Working Group for Mountain Areas SAB. On behalf of the municipalities of Sumvitg and Vrin , he conducted negotiations from 1986 to 1996 for appropriate compensation for the renunciation of the Greina power plant and for the protection of this alpine plateau.

In the service of the economy and society

After completing his twenty years of parliamentary activity in December 1999, Columberg took over the municipal presidency of Disentis (2007 - 2012) with the task of restructuring the municipal finances. He headed the building commission for the new construction of the nursing home Sursassiala (Puntreis) (2007-2015) and Spitex Cadi (2000-2009).

In addition, Columberg was a member of various foundations and societies, including a. Board of Directors of the Swiss Accident Insurance Company (01.01.1989 - 31.12.2001), Vice President of Graubündner Kantonalbank (01.01.1989 - 31.03.2009), Swiss Cooperative for Hotel Credit (1996 - 2008), Casa Libera Zurich AG (President) - Sapomp Wohnbau AG ( 2000 - 2014), Sika AG (May 1993 - May 2006), Bergbahnen Sedrun SA (1989 - 2004, President and Delegate from 1995), Matterhorn Group Management AG, Zermatt (Vice President from 1999 to 2016), Kraftwerk Russein AG and the foundation Pro St. Johann monastery in Müstair and the Swiss Greina Foundation.

2015-2020 he headed the working group for the redesign of the courtyard garden and the renovation of the Cuort Ligia Grischa - Museum Sursilvan in Trun.
